Amager is home to Kastrup airport but is mostly a residential area. In recent years Amager has seen build-up of design commercial and residential housing close to the airport in an area called Örestaden. There you will find design residential housing like M-husene and Fields shopping center, the largest one in Scandinavia.
Amager is also the home to several small parks, Copenhagen business school and Amager Beach Park.
