This mostly residential area situated on a artificial island was once a working class neigbourhhood but today the city´s trendy and bohemian part with some of the best restaurants in Copenhagen located there.

The residents are a mix of artists, businessmen, yuppies and families with children all living side by side in this sometimes unusual neigborhood. Christianshavns Canal splits the area, creating a really special environment.
